Terms of service

Last updated: 20 October 2026

1. Overview

Welcome to Cortex London.

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Cortex London website, online store and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

In these Terms, “Cortex London”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Cortex London Ltd. Our store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform that enables us to sell our products to you.

Cortex London offers Home & Decor products for consumers in the United Kingdom.

By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service and the policies referenced in them. Please read them carefully before using our Services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under applicable UK law.

2. Eligibility and Customer Information

Our online store is intended for individuals purchasing products for personal or household use.

By using our Services, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract.

When placing an order, you must provide accurate, current and complete information, including your name, email address, billing details, delivery address and payment information.

You are responsible for ensuring that your delivery details are correct. If you discover an error after placing an order, please contact us as soon as possible at info@cortexlondon.com.

We cannot guarantee that changes to an order or delivery address will be possible after the order has been processed or dispatched. However, this does not affect any cancellation rights you may have under applicable law.

3. Our Products

Cortex London offers a selection of Home & Decor products.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, dimensions, images and prices displayed on our website are accurate and up to date.

Colours and appearance may vary slightly depending on your screen, device settings, lighting conditions and the materials used in the product.

Product images are provided to help you understand the appearance and features of an item. Where relevant, product descriptions will specify dimensions, materials, installation requirements, compatibility and other important characteristics.

Please review the product description and specifications carefully before placing your order.

All products must conform to their contractual description and meet the applicable statutory standards for quality, fitness for purpose and other requirements under UK consumer law.

We may update product listings, correct errors or discontinue products from time to time. Any changes will not remove rights you already have under a confirmed purchase contract.

4. Orders and Contract Formation

When you place an order through our website, you are submitting an offer to purchase the selected products.

You will receive an order acknowledgement confirming that we have received your order. This acknowledgement does not necessarily mean that your order has been accepted.

A purchase contract is formed when we confirm that your order has been accepted, normally through an order confirmation email.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where there is a legitimate reason, including product unavailability, a pricing or listing error, suspected fraudulent activity or an inability to process payment.

If we cannot fulfil an order after payment has been taken, we will notify you and arrange a refund for any amount paid for the affected products.

We will not cancel a confirmed order arbitrarily or rely on an error in our systems to avoid our legal obligations.

Please review your order carefully before submitting it. If you wish to cancel or amend an order, contact info@cortexlondon.com as soon as possible. Once an order has entered processing or dispatch, changes may no longer be possible, but your statutory rights remain unaffected.

5. Prices, Payments and Promotions

All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP), unless expressly stated otherwise.

The product price and any applicable delivery charges will be displayed before you complete your purchase.

Any applicable taxes or other mandatory charges will be treated in accordance with applicable law. We will not impose undisclosed charges after you have placed an order.

Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered at checkout. By submitting payment details, you confirm that you are authorised to use the selected payment method.

You agree to provide accurate billing and payment information and to update it where necessary to complete your transaction.

Prices, discounts and promotions may change at any time. The price applicable to your order is the price displayed and agreed at the time you place your order, subject to the correction of genuine errors in accordance with applicable law.

Promotional offers may be subject to additional conditions, which will be made available when the promotion is presented.

Discounts and promotional pricing do not affect your statutory consumer rights.

6. Shipping and Delivery

We deliver products to customers in the United Kingdom using the fulfilment arrangements applicable to each product.

Depending on the item, your order may be dispatched from a Cortex London warehouse or shipped directly by one of our suppliers.

The dispatch location does not change your contractual relationship with Cortex London. We remain responsible for fulfilling your order in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.

Delivery options, charges and estimated delivery times will be displayed on the website or at checkout, as applicable.

Delivery dates are estimates unless we have expressly agreed to a specific delivery date. We will take reasonable steps to fulfil orders within the stated timeframe and without undue delay.

Unless a different period has been expressly agreed with you, goods must generally be delivered within 30 days of the contract being formed.

If delivery is delayed, please contact us at info@cortexlondon.com. Where delivery obligations have not been met, you may have rights to require delivery within an additional appropriate period or to terminate the contract and receive a refund, as provided by law.

We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control to the extent permitted by law. However, this does not remove any statutory remedies available to you.

Responsibility for the goods remains with Cortex London until you, or a person identified by you to receive the goods, takes physical possession of them. An exception may apply where you independently arrange a carrier that we did not offer, in accordance with applicable law.

Nothing in this section excludes your rights where an order is lost, damaged or not delivered.

7. Returns, Cancellations and Refunds

Our Return & Refund Policy explains how to request a return, how return costs are handled and how refunds are processed.

You can read it here:

https://cortexlondon.com/policies/refund-policy

For most online purchases, UK consumers have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods, subject to applicable legal exceptions. A further 14-day period generally applies for returning goods after cancellation has been communicated.

Where the law permits, customers may be responsible for the direct cost of returning goods following a change of mind, provided the relevant information has been properly disclosed before purchase.

Products that are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described are subject to the remedies available under applicable consumer law.

Depending on the circumstances, these remedies may include a refund, repair, replacement or another statutory remedy.

Our returns process may involve a supplier where the product was dispatched directly by that supplier. However, this does not remove or reduce your rights against Cortex London.

Please consult our Return & Refund Policy for the full procedure. If there is any inconsistency between our policies and mandatory consumer law, the applicable law will prevail.

8. Product Availability and Errors

We aim to keep product information, availability, prices and delivery information accurate.

Occasionally, our website may contain typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions relating to product specifications, pricing, promotions, delivery charges or availability.

If we discover a material error affecting an order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and explain the available options.

Where an order cannot be fulfilled at the agreed price or on the agreed terms, we will seek an appropriate resolution. If the order is cancelled and payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid for the affected products.

We may correct website errors and update product information prospectively. Such changes will not remove rights arising under an existing contract.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, product descriptions, photographs, graphics, logos, branding, design elements and other materials, is owned by Cortex London Ltd or used under licence, unless otherwise indicated.

This content is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may access and use our website for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, republish, commercially exploit or otherwise use website content without our prior written permission, except where permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of, or a licence to use, our trademarks, logos or other intellectual property beyond what is necessary for your permitted use of the website.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

10. Reviews and Customer Feedback

If you submit a review, suggestion, comment or other feedback to us, you confirm that the content is truthful to the best of your knowledge and does not unlawfully infringe the rights of another person.

By submitting feedback, you grant Cortex London a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and display that feedback for purposes connected with our business, including displaying product reviews and improving our Services.

This licence does not transfer ownership of your content to us.

We may moderate or remove feedback where reasonably necessary, including where it is unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, misleading, irrelevant or infringes third-party rights.

We will not represent a review as genuine customer feedback if it is not, and we will not knowingly publish misleading reviews or manipulate reviews in a way that breaches applicable law.

You remain responsible for the content you submit.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, applications or services, or use third-party tools to support the operation of our store.

These services may be operated by providers independent of Cortex London.

We do not control every aspect of third-party websites or services and cannot guarantee the accuracy or availability of content on websites operated by others.

Your use of third-party services may be subject to the terms and privacy policies of the relevant provider.

This section does not exclude or restrict any responsibility Cortex London has under applicable law for services we provide, representations we make or our own acts and omissions.

12. Shopify and Our E-commerce Platform

Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the technology used to operate our e-commerce website.

Your purchase of products through our store is a transaction with Cortex London Ltd.

Shopify provides platform services to us, but it is not the seller of the products you purchase from Cortex London.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to transfer our obligations as the seller to Shopify or to remove any rights you have against Cortex London under applicable law.

Your use of the website may also be subject to relevant Shopify terms and privacy information.

13. Privacy and Personal Information

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy:

https://cortexlondon.com/policies/privacy-policy

When you place an order, we use relevant information to process payment, fulfil your purchase, arrange delivery, provide customer support and meet our legal obligations.

Because our store is hosted by Shopify and some fulfilment arrangements involve third-party suppliers and service providers, relevant personal information may be shared where necessary to process your order, arrange delivery, provide support or operate our business lawfully.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is handled appropriately and in accordance with applicable data protection law.

Please consult our Privacy Policy for further details about how personal information is collected, used, stored and shared, and about your rights.

14. Acceptable Use of Our Website

You may use our website only for lawful purposes.

You must not:

  • Use our Services for fraudulent, unlawful or malicious purposes.

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our website, systems or accounts.

  • Upload or transmit viruses, malicious code or other harmful material.

  • Interfere with the security, availability or proper operation of our Services.

  • Use automated methods to scrape, copy or collect website content or personal information without authorisation.

  • Infringe our intellectual property rights or the rights of other people.

  • Submit false, deceptive or unlawful information or content.

  • Use our Services in a way that unlawfully harms, harasses or threatens another person.

We may take proportionate action where we reasonably believe that a user has breached these requirements, including restricting access where necessary and permitted by law.

Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies available to you under applicable law.

15. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or restrict access to our website where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, prevention of fraud or compliance with legal obligations.

We may also restrict or terminate an account where there is a legitimate reason, including serious misuse of our Services or a material breach of these Terms.

Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice and an explanation of significant restrictions.

Suspension or termination of website access does not cancel any existing obligations or remove any consumer rights arising from an order already placed.

16. Disclaimer of Warranties

We take reasonable care to maintain our website and provide accurate product information.

However, we cannot guarantee that our website will always be available, uninterrupted or free from technical errors.

To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access to our Services or that every technical issue can be prevented.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits the statutory rights that apply to products sold to consumers, including rights relating to satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and conformity with the product description.

Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

17. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

In particular, these Terms do not exclude or restrict liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

We remain responsible for our obligations as the seller and for complying with applicable consumer protection law.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the relevant contract was formed, or for losses arising from circumstances outside the scope of our legal responsibility.

Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights or any remedy available to you for goods that do not conform to the contract.

18. Indemnification

You are responsible for losses directly caused by your unlawful use of our Services or your deliberate infringement of our rights, to the extent that liability may lawfully be imposed on you.

Nothing in these Terms requires you to indemnify Cortex London for losses caused by our own breach of contract, negligence, unlawful conduct or other acts or omissions for which we are legally responsible.

Any rights we have under this section are subject to applicable law.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as modified to the minimum extent necessary or, where that is not possible, severed from the remaining Terms.

The remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent that they can lawfully remain in force.

This section does not allow us to enforce a term that is unfair or otherwise not binding on a consumer under applicable law.

20. No Waiver and Entire Agreement

If we do not exercise a right immediately, this does not mean that we have waived that right.

These Terms, together with the policies expressly referenced in them and the information provided to you before purchase, form part of the agreement governing your use of our Services and your purchase of products from Cortex London.

Nothing in these Terms overrides information that is legally required to form part of your contract or any statutory rights you have as a consumer.

Where a provision of these Terms conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the legal requirement will apply.

21. Assignment

You may not transfer your contractual rights or obligations to another person without our consent, except where permitted by law.

We may transfer our rights or obligations under these Terms as part of a legitimate business transaction, provided that doing so does not reduce your statutory rights or otherwise breach applicable law.

22. Governing Law

These Terms of Service and any contract between you and Cortex London are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protection provisions that apply to your circumstances.

If you are a consumer, nothing in this section deprives you of any protection afforded by mandatory consumer law or prevents you from bringing proceedings in a court that has jurisdiction under applicable law.

23. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our business, Services, operational practices or legal obligations.

The most recent version will be published on this page, together with the date of the latest update.

Changes will apply from the date specified in the updated Terms, where appropriate.

Changes to these Terms will not retrospectively alter an existing contract or remove rights you have already acquired. Where required by law, we will provide notice of material changes or obtain your agreement.

Your continued use of our website after updated Terms are published does not override any legal requirement for express agreement.
